Gotcha

Well it looks like the killer has been caught. The police today arrested a man in Middlesbrough, which is about 65 miles away. The police aren't saying anything more at the moment, while they question him, but here is the latest word on the street: the man who has been arrested lived in Bridlington until about 5 months ago, when he moved back to Middlesbrough. His girlfriend had 2 children in my childrens' school, and apparently while he lived here I must have stood by him in the playground many times as we collected our kids from school. On the night of the murder he was drinking in a local bar until late, then asked someone he was drinking with to lend him money as he had run out. When this person refused he then left the bar, but returned an hour or two later with loads of money and carried on drinking (presumably using Sue's money that he robbed from her). The clothes he was wearing, and his age and appearance, fit the description of the guy shown on the CCTV clip running after Sue. Looks like they have got the right guy. I just hope now they can make it stick and put him away for a very long time. At least we can all breathe a little easier round here now, but this has left everyone here shaken and disturbed.
